Sound Blog Post

We used cap cut and iMovie to edit sound effects into our film. Makayla is our editor and edits on her phone. We used music and sound motifs in our film, and we used scary music and heartbeat for our non-diegetic sound. For our diegetic sound we used scratches and footsteps. We made these choices because they help the viewer understand better what the mood of the film is.

Editing Post 1 Blog Post

We used effects like heartbeat, scratches, footsteps to enhance the mood in the film. The transitions/cuts that we used were fade in/out, dissolve, cut in, jump cut, and cross cutting. When editing we had a problem finding a program that has different features that we could easily use. we had to use iMovie and capcut to put all the scenes together and add overlays. Our solution was to use two programs and then impot from one program to another to add effects, transitions and overlays.

Color Use Blog Post

In our film, we used darker colors. This is because our story takes place during the nighttime during a sleepover. We used black, white, yellow, and neutral colors to make a better illusion of the setting. We used these colors because they match to our theme and played a good part in making the feeling of the film. We also used lights and grayish colors also. We also used natural lights from windows and faded colors.

Title Sequence Blog Post

We wanted to have a scary title to fit with the theme of our film. We ended up picking the first title because we liked the font and color. We didn't pick the other titles because they seemed a little basic and didn't really fit our themes.

Challenges in Filming Blog Post

The challenges we have in filming is everyone agreeing on a place, time, and day to meet to shoot. not everyone is free or busy on the same day. We are trying to handle these challenges by searching for a day to film and talking to our parents. We all try together to fix our problems and make time to film.  We also had challenges using props and making different lightings in the room we were filming in.

Filming Blog Post

Our first filming day was fun. We filmed at my house and our remaining filming schedule will take place on Sunday at 10 am where we will be finish filming our film. Our first video went well, but it needs editing and the sound improved. We need to add other special effects to it also.

Representation Blog Post

Our film is fair, and everyone gets a good role. Our representation is the stereotypical high school students of different ethnicities like Asian and Hispanic. It shows the typical students have a sleepover watching movies and joking around. Everyone gets to be creative with their role and their acting. I don't believe we need to change anything about our characters.
